RALEIGH

(The Capital Area Visitor Center is located in the NC Museum of History, 5 East Edenton St., and provides free brochures, maps and a slide presentation about Raleigh. Exploris:
To schedule group tours call 919-857-1049. Admission is $3.50 per student.

Capital Area Transit (cat): Capital Area Transit buses meet train daily. Bus stops at front door of Raleigh Amtrak Station enroute to Moore Square Transit Center on Blount St. adjacent to Exploris. (This bus does not go directly to the state capitol.) Groups larger than 20 should email the director of operations, David Walker, at least 3-4 days in advance, at david.walker@ci.raleigh.nc.us to arrange for local transportation or call ahead to 919-833-5701.

White Horse Transportation: Offers transportation using extra large, custom SUVs and vans. Call ahead, 919-782-5893 or visit www.ridewhitehorse.com and click on the reservations link to complete an online request.

Historic Tours of Raleigh: For walking tours or step-on bus/van tours, call ahead to 919-829-4988.

Acorn Express Tours: For walking tours or step-on van/bus tours of destinations in Raleigh, Durham or Chapel Hill, call ahead to Brenda McLean 919-782-3885.

Sights Unlimited: 12-15 passenger vans available for charter. Tour service also available. Call ahead, 919-404-4804, Fax: 919-404-4803.

CHARLOTTE
Discovery Place: Call ahead for information, show times, advance ticket sales and teacher's packets. 704-372-0471 or 800-935-0553.

Charlotte Transit: Charlotte Transit Route 11 takes passengers from the Amtrak Station to Discovery Place and Uptown. Bus #11 stops across the street from the Amtrak station every 15-20 minutes. Groups of 15-30 should call ahead to Customer Service at Charlotte Transit, 704-336-RIDE (7433). Fare is $1.10 per person each way (receipts not provided). Please note that Charlotte Transit cannot provide direct transportation to South Park Mall, Ericsson Stadium or other locations not on the scheduled route.

Transit for School Groups
Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools can provide transportation during the traditional school year for public/private/home-based school groups only for a small fee (generally $13.50/hr per driver plus 70 cents per mile). Elementary school buses hold 66 students; high school buses hold 40 students. Groups may reserve more than one bus. 30 day reservation is needed. Payment is due at time service is rendered. SALISBURY/SPENCER
NC Transportation Museum: Call 704-636-2889 or 877-628-6386 (toll free) for information, reservations and teacher's packet. Museum is closed on Mondays Nov. 1-March 31. Museum is 10 minutes by bus from the station.

Salisbury Transit: Call ahead for groups to 704-638-5252.

Crossroads Charters:

OLD SALEM
