Track Work to Affect Traffic Near State Fairgrounds
RALEIGHMotorists in Raleigh may experience some delays next week as the North Carolina Department of Transportation repairs a stretch of rail at the Blue Ridge Road crossing near the State Fairgrounds.
Weather permitting, the Blue Ridge Road crossing is tentatively schedule to be closed to vehicle traffic on Tuesday, April 4. Crews will remove and repair a section of spur track that has been damaged by low clearing truck trailers. The crossing will reopen the following day, Wednesday, April 5. Motorists should pay close attention when traveling through the area and follow signed detour routes.
Scheduled improvements will not affect passenger and freight rail service.
