Project: TIP Project No. P-3419; Next Generation High Speed Rail Grant
The North Carolina Department of Transportation has completed the following tasks as part of the Sealed Corridor project since our last report to you in August 2000:
- 17 plans sent for engineering by the railroad
- Removed the South Holt Avenue crossing, in Elon College; Crossing 722 994N,Milepost H 16.66
- Construction was completed at the following locations:
- SR 2020 (Lower Lake Road), near Lexington; Crossing 722 315X, Milepost Main 311.99
- SR 2120 (Long Ferry Road), in Spencer; Crossing 715 307N, Milepost Main 330.18
- East 11th Street, in Salisbury; Crossing 715 302E, Milepost Main 332.94
- SR 1703 (East Monroe Street), in Salisbury; Crossing 715 284J, Milepost Main 334.20
- SR 2541 (Klumac Road), in Salisbury; Crossing 715 273W, Milepost Main 335.20
- SR 1254 (East 22nd Street), in Kannapolis; Crossing 724 398V, Milepost Main 347.28
Construction was authorized at the following locations:
- East 7th Street, in Lexington; Crossing 722 306Y, Milepost Main 317.21
- SR 1526 (Henderson Grove Road), in Salisbury, Crossing 724 362M,
Milepost Main 336.24
- Municipal approval was received to close the following crossings:
- Bristol Street, in Lexington ; Crossing 722 310N, Milepost Main 316.20
- Pond Street, in Lexington; Crossing 722 309U, Milepost Main 316.35
- The City of High Point has agreed to participate in a Traffic Separation Study to include the following locations:
- West Grimes Street; Crossing 722 337X, Milepost Main 299.79
- Taylor Avenue: Crossing 722 335J, Milepost Main 300.00
- West Point Avenue; Crossing 722 334C, Milepost Main 300.17
- Prospect Street, Crossing 722 332N, Milepost Main 300.73
