Private Crossing Safety Initiative (PCSI):
Demonstration locations have been designed by NCDOT. They are awaiting agreements to be developed so that they can be sent to Norfolk Southern Railway for engineering. The two demo locations are:

• Byrdsville Road, PVA, near Hillsborough, Crossing 735 189T, Milepost H 43.89
  Long Beverage, PVA, in Morrisville, Crossing 734 751V, Milepost H 67.75
• A "Private Vehicular Access" sign has been developed for use at PCSI locations.
