Private Crossing Safety Initiative (PCSI):

• The PCSI project is in its final stage. We are finalizing the written report, and making preparations for the final presentation to NCDOT management. We are investigating one last time the written agreements that may exist between the private owners and the railroad companies. We are scheduled to meet with the private Engineering firm on October 2, 2003 to discuss the final issues and set the date for the final presentation.

Other Items of Note

• On September 8, 2003, the Town of Gibsonville Board of Aldermen approved a Resolution accepting the near-term (within two years) improvements recommended in the East Guilford County Traffic Separation Study. One recommendation is the permanent crossing closure at Smith Street (Crossing No. 722 989S, Milepost H14.75).
