The NCDOT Rail Division constantly looks for new technology or seeks creative ways to use existing technology to enhance safety on the railroad and at railroad-highway crossings. For instance, innovative usage of existing technology is one of the primary factors in the nationally recognized Sealed Corridor program.

While each new technology and innovative solution may not be permanently implemented, it is important to thoroughly examine and test these devices and systems as part of our quest to develop the safest rail system possible.
