Dear Mrs. Ward:

As we discussed on the phone on April 17, 2001, please revise your documentation to reflect the start date of the EVA Signal Project to be May, 2001. The North Carolina Department of Transportation has completed the following tasks as part of the EVA Signal System Experiment:
  • The agreement between the North Carolina Department of Transportation, EVA Signal Corporation and the North Carolina and Virginia Railroad Company has been negotiated and fully executed.
  • EVA Signal Corporation has completed construction of the controller house and plans to install the EVA Signal System in May. After the circuitry is evaluated for a minimum of 4 weeks, the above ground equipment will be installed. (Flashers and Infrared train detection)
  • NC State will evaluate driver behavior as well as functionality of the circuitry between May and June.

Please contact me at (919) 733-5587 if you have any questions.

Yours very truly,
Jason L. Field, P.E.
Crossing Project Engineer
